Why parenting coaching?

The way I see it, our children are our more important life projects, the ones that impact our lives in the most significant way. They are also our contribution to the world. Although we are not responsible for their actions as adults, a kid with a good foundation is more likely to become a good, productive, and conscious citizen who will see how he can contribute to the world and leave a legacy. Thus, I believe that's where we should put our energy, time, wisdom, and resources to get the best outcome possible. A person can have access to the best education, but if they don't have a good emotional foundation and a strong enough character, they might not succeed in life, or not go the right way about it. One of our most important functions as parents is to help our children build their character. Be strong, autonomous, independent, and self-confident. It is a difficult and titanic task, and it takes a lot of time and effort! the more help we get in this task the better, so we can speed up this process and focus on what matters the most.

Is life coaching the same as therapy?

No. Therapy focuses on behavioral and emotional issues and involves mental health professionals. As a parenting coach, my focus is on designing goals, identifying strengths and areas of opportunity, and creating strategies and an action plan that allows you to achieve those goals. With me, you will learn to be the parent you need to be to provide the right support for your child.

Should I choose therapy? parenting coaching? can I do both?

It's totally up to you and the way you work the best. My recommendation based on the level of success my clients get achieving their goals, is to do both at the same time, since the goals of both services are very different. Having the support of a therapist can help you identify traumas or behavioral issues you want to work on and learn how to cope with those. By getting a parenting coach you will learn how to modify your parenting style so that you can provide support to your child during their journey, forge a strong character, and find the mindful parent that lives within you. I must say some people find it overwhelming to do both at the same time, so if that's your case, I encourage you to start with what you consider more urgent given the situation and then incorporate the other service whenever you feel ready.

Do I need a life/parenting coach?

My answer will be yes to this question most of the time. I believe we humans are deemed to grow and become a better version of ourselves and it is worth investing our time and money to get it done. If we have a project or a goal, having a life coach can speed up the time we need to reach that goal and, in that way, we can save time and potentially money too. On the other hand, there are times when we are not emotionally or financially ready to get a life coach, maybe we are not coachable at the time for whatever reason, and that's why discovery calls are so important. I use life coaches all the time for many reasons and I can attest that it is very beneficial and increases my self-worth and confidence to figure things out with the guidance of a coach. When I started this project and career, I had huge limiting beliefs like imposter syndrome and thoughts that I was not good enough and nobody would be interested in hearing what I had to say. I have had great life coaches walking this path with me and I’m not sure if I would be where I am right now without them. What I do know is that it would have taken me way more time, money, and effort to get there. Based on personal results in my life, I do believe in life coaching with all my heart.

When it comes to parenting, I think collaboration is very important and it speeds up the learning process. In the past, people lived in large communities where moms would share parenting obligations, rights, and responsibilities. Have you heard the phrase “it takes a village?” Well, it does. Having a parenting coach as part of your support system when your family is struggling for whatever reason is a blessing and if you can, I encourage you to get one, no matter if it’s me or someone else. Working with a life coach implies a commitment to either change habits, implement new routines, or work on forging our character, and none of those things are easy, especially during hard times when the whole family is under the trauma of suicidal ideation in one of the members. The transformational changes you can achieve are worth the effort.

Is parenting coaching the only topic you coach?

Certainly not! Parenting involves many life dynamics and is very specific, but I can also coach you on human relationships, especially the toxic ones (of any kind), healthy communication skills and how to transform dysfunctional habits from your family and personal dynamics. Just ask!

Do you have further questions?

Just ask away, send me an email and I will be happy to answer!
